A natural and healthier take on resilient flooring
Take a Look at Linoleum
Jay Carpet One has you covered with popular resilient flooring options such as vinyl and luxury vinyl. We also carry linoleum flooring, which offers a natural take on resilient flooring. Linoleum looks very similar to vinyl, but, while vinyl is made from plastic, linoleum is made from natural materials. These materials typically include linseed oil, wood flour, and powdered cork. As a result, linoleum is more eco friendly than vinyl, and it also may contribute to a healthier living environment.
Linoleum, like vinyl, is available in planks and tiles. These planks and tiles are usually installed using the same glue-down method you use with vinyl, linoleum, and some hardwoods. For an easier installation, you also can grab linoleum flooring rolls that are similar to sheet vinyl.
Linoleum flooring is considered resilient because it is stain, scratch, and even water resistant. As a result, it is easy to clean and maintain. At the same time, given its construction, linoleum has a consistent color and pattern through the backing of the floor. This means that, unlike most vinyl and laminate floors, linoleum will not show wear as easily over time.
Given its natural looks and durability, linoleum is suitable for residential and commercial settings. It can be used in kitchens and bathrooms, as well as heavier traffic commercial areas such as warehouses.
